Carter's Jazz Clinics is proud to announce a significant transformation to its annual "HBCU Jazz Festival & Competition," which will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. Traditionally, the HBCU Jazz Festival has served as a platform for HBCU jazz bands and predominantly minority high schools to showcase their talent through a festival, clinic, and competition format. However, this year's festival will pay homage to Ronald Carter, a pioneer in jazz education who dedicated his life to nurturing young talent and teaching the art of swing.

On April 13th, 2024, six HBCU jazz programs will be visited by world-renowned jazz artists provided by Carter's Jazz Clinics. The principal event will be held at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, and will conclude with an all-star concert. These events will be livestreamed alongside special performances, interviews, and segments, allowing attendees and viewers to learn more about Carter's impact on jazz education and his enduring influence on the jazz community.
